Dental fillings are used to repair the decayed or broken teeth. This is a fast procedure, the composite fillings being usually fixed during one treatment session.
The tooth which is to be treated is firstly cleaned, dried and degreased, then, a filling made of materials imitating the tooth colour is bonded. Once the filling has hardened, the dentist finishes it, to reach the perfect shape and size.
If the decaying process or the tooth fracture affects the nerve and the tooth pulp, the filling will be made after completing the proper treatment on the tooth canal. Another alternative involves the use of a dental crown, dental veneer or onlay.
